Evaluation and Performance Measurement

Good evaluation is both an art and a science, combining the use of effective models and techniques with a clear understanding of an organization’s goals and characteristics.  An evaluation project also needs to be supported by a broad base of quantitative and qualitative data.  Our experience with the complete cycle of planning, strategy implementation, data collection, analysis and measurement gives us the perspective to design and conduct evaluations that promote both quality improvement and accountability for results.

Since “what gets measured, gets done”, performance measures have to be selected and developed with careful consideration of their impact.  We have designed key performance indicators, balanced scorecards, and other performance measurement frameworks for the public sector, community agencies, and the agri-food sector.  Drawing on a variety of models, we can help you develop a measurement system that will lead your organization in the desired directions.

Evaluation and measurement projects we have undertaken include:
  • Preparation of an analysis and summary report of a Presidential performance survey for Thompson Rivers University.
  • External evaluation of the Institutional Analysis department, Kwantlen Polytechnic University
  • On-site evaluation of a CIDA project to train health care administrators in Russia
  • Numerous program, service and special evaluations for MacEwan University
  • Institutional evaluation of Kwantlen College, as a member of an external review team

If you are looking for an effective way to measure your performance, contact us for more information regarding your specific needs.

"Alan Vladicka conducted a review of my office as part of Kwantlen’s review of service units.  His careful review of the materials, thoughtful listening and perceptive observations made this review both reassuring and helpful as the office planned its directions for subsequent years."
